Abstract

In Cuba, policies are applied to meet economic needs with the efficient use of natural resources and the lower waste emission to environment. In this work, the environmental impact assessment of tomato puree, guava jam and cabbage pickle production in Álvaro Barba factory is carried out, using Life Cycle Analysis. From the inventories they are qualitatively identified the main generated impacts, conclusions are reached and measures are proposed. The application of the LCA methodology is carried out using NC ISO 14040: 2009 and Sima Pro 9.1 software, ReCiPe method is used. The study showed that the greatest contributions to the total impact, for the studied processes, correspond to the production system and packaging type. Greatest impact categories are global warming and particulate material formation.
