Abstract

Introduction:
It is necessary to study benefits of juice from the filters extraction in raw sugar production. It is intended for refined sugar production which is used as raw material for glucose production.
Objective:
To quantify the effect of improving raw sugar quality by extracting filter's juice, analyzing its effect on raw sugar, refined sugar and glucose enzymatic production, and on its necessary investments.
Materials and methods:
Research was carried out combining laboratory level experiments, operational control and technical and economic alternatives analysis, adjusting them in a strategy and process analysis procedure.
Results and Discussion:
While sugar refinery investment is quickly recoverable, it is not in filter's juice extraction, if it is only destined for ethanol production. Therefore, it is advisable to take extractive capacity advantage in high added value other productions.
Conclusions:
Investments execution order must be carried out with a future projection in a biorefinery development.
