Abstract

The present work shows the results of the study carried out in the paper factory “Pulp Cuba” from Trinidad in order to obtain models that characterize the operation of the wet end of the machine and the optimal distribution scheme process water by applying a procedure that measured the technical and economic impact of production technology. The paper begins with a literature review that addresses issues related to technology
assessment, paper production and use of statistical techniques and process integration strategies in order to improve production under study. Using multiple linear regression as a statistical technique and the help of Statgraphics Plus 5.1 Software. Were obtained models describe and predict the behavior of the final properties of the paper, is also determined operating condition of this section using hierarchical optimization. The optimal circuit water recycling was determined through mathematical approach to the problem and achieving LINGOTM Software helps reduce the consumption of fresh water and raw materials. Finally, an economic analysis that includes determining static and dynamic indicators for the proposed changes was carried out
