Estrategia para evaluar las alternativas de uso de la xilosa para la obtención de Xilitol o Etanol
Keywords:
sugarcane bagasse, xilosa, ethanol, xilitolAbstract
In the ethanol production from sugarcane bagasse by the technology UCLV, a rich current in Xilosa can be transformed to several products, being interest of the Cuban national market its use like source of ethanol or xilitol. The investigation strategy includes a study of Technological Monitoring about the available alternatives, the experimental ways for the assimilation of these technologies at the laboratory level, and the requirements for by means of the scale up, carry out their assesment. 80 patents has been revised to know the situation at world-wide level of the used xilosa to obtain ethanol and xilitol, that included 7 specific places and other generals, being of interest 31 patents, what gave the possibility of defining a viable strategy to followed in every case. The most important stocks to obtain xylitol are Candida guilliermondii, Pichia stipitis NRRL Y-11545 and Pachyssolen tannophilus, and the analytical techniques to employ are the biomass and xylitol determination with HPLC. In the case to obtain ethanol the stocks more employing are Candida shehatae NRRL Y-1285, Pichia stipitis NRRL Y-11545 and Pachyssolen tannophilus and the analytical techniques are the biomass, total reducing sugar by DNS method and ethanol to colorimetric technique with K2Cr2O7. Finally the
proyections are detailed to future.
