Abstract

The present paper studies the characterization of a low carbon steel to be use in the manufacturing of the splints of cane transporters. It was made the chemical characterization by Emission Atomic Spectroscopy (EEA) and classical Chemical Analysis, as well as the micro structural characterization by metallographic analysis, measurement of grains sizes and micro and macrohardness. It was made a search of homologous samples, from the obtained results and its essential properties, using for it different selection criteria and tools of searches, for instance: International Handbooks, Standards and data bases.
