Abstract

In present work a technological proposal for sanitary residuals of Cienfuegos Thermoelectric Company disinfection is made using chlorinated products which will allow fecal coliforms control before its bay discharge, satisfying NC 521:2007 standard. A completely randomized design of experiments was elaborated and the quantity of replicas necessary to assure the statistical reliability was calculated, minimizing chemical products cost. A regression analysis was carried out to relate residual chlorine with its dosage and thus determine the optimum dosage to be used. In addition, the number of colonies after disinfection was estimated using theoretical models. Space restrictions were considered for system design, so mathematical programming techniques were used. The system will allow compliance with environmental regulations, ensuring greater discharges to Cienfuegos bay control and preservation of community health.
