Abstract

Progress in technologies for the exploitation of renewable energy sources makes increasingly the use of them feasible and useful. Cuba does not remain behind in relation to this aspect. In the country is being carried out several projects for construction and implementation of biomass plants in order to generate electricity. There are areas of the island where the work realization has begun. In Villa Clara province, the start-up of three bioelectric plants, Héctor Rodríguez, Washington and Quintín Banderas, is planned for years 2019, 2023 and 2028 respectively. This work objective is to determine the electric network problems in Villa Clara province by connecting the bioelectric plants to the National Electric System, both in construction and electrical aspects. The network operation conditions for bars voltages, power lines transfers, and levels of short circuit in different bars were obtained with PSX softwarehelp. A preliminary calculus has done for the necessary cost inversions in the electric network.
