The aim of the study was to determine the availability of biomass for bioenergetics production in Cabinda, Angola. Methodologically, this paper was conceived through research, document review, direct observation, interviews, field survey and analysis conducted in institutions, companies, industries and farming areas that are great source of residual biomass in the territory of Cabinda. As main results, we present a detail analysis of the availability of existing agricultural and agro biomass, which takes into account the productive potential of the forest, and the classification of biomass, determining the potential use of its main components, and presents geographical distribution of agricultural and agroindustrial waste biomass to further determine the main alternatives for energy production and higher value-added products (ethanol, biodiesel, hydrogen, biogas, bio-electricity, etc..) to develop in Cabinda, Angola. For such reason, we conclude that the residual biomass available in Cabinda is classified as forest residues, industrial wood waste, and industrial waste. This is enough to be a source of chemicals and energy, so, this study is the prelude to the strategy for the use of biomass as source of chemicals and energy.
