Abstract

This work deals with a preliminary study about sedimentation step in sugar mill production process effects in Siboney enterprise molasses, Sibanicú municipality, Camagüey province, when secondary juice is used for obtaining animal foods, and sugar is obtaining by using primary juice. Sedimentation studies in different kinds of juices (mixing, primary, and secondary juices) were analyzed, and statistical analysis are done in different conditions for demonstrating there are no differences among sedimentation velocities, then it is possible to use the same equipment in clarifying process. This result shows the possibility of flexibility operation in industry.
