In the operation of the washing of diesel, used as feedstock in power generation, there are oleaginous waters produce, which are kept in a cistern without any treatment. These wastewaters are high in oil and hydrocarbons, and they are considered toxic and dangerous to the environment. In the present work the cane bagasse is evaluated, a low cost residual of the sugar cane industry that can be used as sorbents in the operation of cleaning of those oleaginous waters. In this the work cane bagasse is characterized and his sorption capacity is evaluated at two grains, at two times of contact and static and dynamics conditions. The obtained results reflect that to a grain of +0.161-0.21 mm, with 24 hours of contact and with blended initial for mechanical agitation, the biggest sorption values are obtained (6.g de Diesel/1g cane bagasse). It is demonstrated that this material is a viable alternative for the control and cleaning of oleaginous waters with high content of hydrocarbons. So the environmental impacts can be diminished if the wastes have to be poured to the environment and to improve the aggregate value to cane bagasse used.
