EXPERIMENTAL PLANS WHEN STUDYING THE ACID HYDROLYSIS OF PINE SAW DUST TO PRODUCE ETHANOL
Keywords:
Pine sawdust, experiment design, ethanol, hydrolysis, researchAbstract
Introduction:
It is necessary to study the possibilities of determining with speed and accuracy ethanol from pine wood sawdust obtaining, minimizing experimental expenses and research costs to evaluate alternatives in ethanol production from lignocellulosic residues technological conditions.
Objective:
To verify the feasibility of applying the experimental designs to know the pine sawdust true potential as a raw material for ethanol from lignocellulosic residues.
Materials and methods:
The research was carried out using experimental designs in acid hydrolysis stage at laboratory level, which allowed evaluating these methods use by measuring process variables effect on the results of different obtained sugars.
Results and Discussion:
The non-linear behavior of the effect of the independent variables on the amount of glucose obtained, by initial dry mass; in the filtered liquid from the acid fraction stage of pine sawdust allows predicting that the best results of this response variable are achieved at high percent acid and temperature values.
Conclusions:
The use of experimental strategies by means of experiments design allows obtaining technical results of economic projection minimizing the expenses of the investigation.
