THE INTELLECTUAL CAPITAL AT THE “ORIENTE SUR” TERRITORIAL SUGARCANE RESEARCH STATION

Introduction:
The scientific community recognizes knowledge management as one of the most important assets for any business or academic institution.
Objective:
To present a tool to evaluate the management of intellectual capital, in its three dimensions: human, structural and relational capital, at the Territorial Sugarcane Research Station “Oriente-Sur”.
Materials and Methods:
A literature review was carried out on the subject under analysis and a monitoring of the knowledge management indicators of the institution in the period 2014-2020. An assessment of the institution's human resources was carried out in different classifications: age, scientific degree, scientific and teaching category. Scientific production, infrastructure and information technologies were determined. In addition, elements of dissemination and systematization of institutional knowledge were evaluated.
Results and Discussion:
A knowledge management tool was established to evaluate the behavior of Intellectual Capital through 29 and 27 first and second level indicators respectively, to measure the contributions of human, structural and relational capital to the intellectual.
Conclusions:
The knowledge management tool obtained allows evaluating the behavior of the Intellectual Capital in the Territorial Sugarcane Research Station “Oriente-Sur” in the period 2014-2020.
