Abstract

The objective of this work is to propose the implementation of a management for efficient use of the energy resources with smaller emission of gases to the atmosphere in the Sugar Mill "14 de Julio". The bibliographic search, the energy characterization and the ISO Norms helped to define the basic indicators of the process and the consumption rates: (kwh / t milled cane) and (t bagasse / t milled cane). The energy performance of the years 2013, 2014 and 2015 was compared; as a reference of better level of energy efficiency it was taken the year 2015 and it was set the goal of reducing in 8% the consumption of bagasse and electrical power in relation to that year. In the 2016 harvest, the procedure proposed was validated; and in less than a year, the investment grant for the implementation was recovered and a reduction in the emission of the polluting gases: CO2 and SOx was achieved.
