In this work, the main quantitative techniques for technological risk assessment in industrial chemical processes are studied, classified and categorized. It is specified that these techniques are the most useful to evaluate, in a comparative way, the design alternatives, operations and maintenance. It is specified that these techniques are able to assign occurrence values to the identified different risks, that is to say, to calculate the level of risk of the different stages of the project. In addition, it enumerates all those techniques that present a bigger use frequency as well as the dangers they identify and the results they give. In function of the grade of complexity of the analysis technique, their use is linked with the different stages of the life of the industrial projects/processes.
