Abstract

The present work has as the main objective to evaluate the feasibility of producing xylitol from xylose syrup by means of technical economical analysis of the proposed technology. In Ignacio Agramonte Sugar Factory, in Camaguey province, this technology was suggested for the raw materials use and auxiliary facilities. A technology for xylitol production was proposed, the plant capacity was estimate, and the total production cost of xylitol is 480.30 $ by ton.
