Abstract

The present work is carried out with the objective to optimize the duration of the periods of operation of an integrated sugar complex that it operates all the year processing energetic sugar cane as raw material when finishing the sugar season. For all this the sugar factorie Melanio Hernández, was taken as object of study in which a cogeneration plant will be built to generate electricity all the year. For the realization of the work an objective function is obtained to maximize the annual incomes of the integrated complex and it is based on the variation, that will have the variable costs of operation the mainly of the distillery and the cogeneration plant starting from the contributions of honey and biomass, that can be obtained in each one of the periods of operation. The most important results that are reached with the work demonstrate the feasibility of the carried out optimization, the validity of the obtained objective function and the importance that it continues having for the profitability of a complex integrated with these characteristics the period of sugar production.
