Abstract

Introduction:
The chemical industry requires productive and efficient equipment, which is achieved by introducing additional mechanical energy in order to significantly improve the efficiency of the processes carried out. For this reason, designs that include equipment with agitation systems that have high technical and economic characteristics stand out in chemical equipment.
Objective:
To provide the necessary knowledge to enable the technical staff in charge of both the selection and the design of the elements and component parts of the agitation system of chemical equipment.
Materials and Methods:
The work has been carried out taking into account the requirements of international standards, as well as the technical bibliography consulted. It offers the necessary technical information that allows the design and selection of the component elements of the agitation system in the shortest possible time and in a safe way.
Results and Discussion:
The article provides a sequence of steps that allow both the selection and the design of the same in a simple, safe manner and in the shortest possible time. The flexibility of the described sequence of steps lies in the possibility of applying any of the traditional calculation methods in the solution of the same.
Conclusions:
Provides chemical equipment designers with a tool that offers a sequence of logical steps and relevant recommendations for the safe design of the chemical equipment agitation system.
