Abstract

A comparative technic –economic analysis of the possibilities of ethanol production from xylose and glucose or ethanol production from glucose and furfural from xilose was made. Moreover, in the study are analyzed
both alternatives including the lignin supply for raw material from other productions. The cost of ethanol liter, the cost of production and PRD were considerer economical indicators. The results show that the alternative considering the ethanol productions from xylose present lower cost by ethanol liter and PRD upper to 6.5 years, but higher values of the cost of production with relation the alternative that considering the furfural from xilosa. The PRD of the variant the furfural like byproduct is 2.5 years, that it is an indicative of obtain the profitability by mean to coproducts in analyzed conditions.
