Abstract

In the present work are analyzed alternatives of design for the distillation stage, for a pilot plant of bioethanol production with a capacity of 1.5 Hl/day, with the aim of looking for variants to reduce the energy consumption of this operation. The necessary equipment of each alternative is designed (packed columns, sieve tray, condensers, heaters, coolers and reboilers), which was programmed in Excel and PSI software. The most suitable variant could be determined from the technical-economic view point to use. Finally one concludes, according to the analysis of the results that the best alternative is the one than it uses a tray distillation columns, a packed rectification columns with Intalox Saddles and with reuse of currents for the energy saving.
