Abstract

In this work, we proposed an alternative to ethanol and chemicals by fermentation of the sugar with the integration process and its derivatives, in order to diversify the sugar industry. Inside this process, there are intermediate sugar process streams, such as juices and secondary filters, which are used as substrates for sugar ethanol production to exceed traditional economic and environmental outcomes. To this end, it can also be
used hydrolyzate resulting from the production of ethanol from the bagasse and vinasse from distilleries. The bagasse is a residue of the sugar process that is traditionally used in the sugarcane factories for burning in boilers and has great potential for the production of second generation ethanol and chemicals with high added value like cane trash, which is residue obtained after the harvest of sugarcane. Despite being the most aggressive of the alcohol industry waste, some features of the vinasse make it a means for the production of torula yeast, which is used for animal consumption.
